1. Who we are and who this applies to

Asparagus Fit is a physiotherapy and movement-recovery practice based in India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you use our website at asparagusfit.com — including our AI intake assistant Gus, the booking flow, and all other pages.

This policy applies to all visitors and users of the website. By using the site you agree to the practices described here.

2. What information we collect

We collect two categories of information:

Information you give us directly:

Name — provided when you start a chat with Gus.
Phone number — provided when you start a chat with Gus, so our team can follow up if you request it.
Chat messages — the content of your conversation with Gus, processed in real time to generate responses.

Information collected automatically:

IP address — captured when you submit the Gus intake form, to help detect abuse.
User agent — your browser and device type, recorded alongside lead data.
Interaction context — which spine region (if any) you were exploring when you opened the chat.

We do not use cookies for tracking or analytics. We do not collect payment card details — payments are handled directly at the clinic.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

Generate responses from Gus to assist with your intake.
Log your lead details (name, phone, source, timestamp) so our clinical team can follow up if you wish.
Prevent misuse or spam submissions.
Improve the quality and relevance of our intake process over time.

We will never sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising profiling or any purpose unrelated to your care enquiry.

4. How we share your information

Your information may be shared with the following third parties, solely to operate our service:

SheetDB / Google Sheets — lead data (name, phone, source, timestamp, IP, user agent) is stored in a Google Sheet via SheetDB so our team can manage follow-ups. SheetDB acts as a data processor on our behalf.
Anthropic — chat messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate Gus's responses. Anthropic processes message content per their Privacy Policy. We do not share your name or phone with Anthropic.
Calendly — if you proceed to book a session, you are directed to Calendly, which has its own privacy policy.
Netlify — our website is hosted on Netlify, which processes requests on our behalf.

We do not share your information with any other third party unless required to do so by law or by a competent authority.

5. Data retention

Lead data (name, phone, source, timestamp) is retained in our Google Sheet for up to 12 months, after which it is reviewed and deleted if no ongoing clinical relationship exists.

Chat message content is not stored by us beyond what is transiently processed by the Anthropic API to generate a reply. We do not maintain a persistent log of chat transcripts.

6. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and applicable law, you have the right to:

Know what personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data, subject to any legal obligation we may have to retain it.
Withdraw consent for us to contact you at any time.

7. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS. Access to the Google Sheet containing lead data is restricted to authorised Asparagus Fit team members.

No system is completely secure. If you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

8. Children's privacy

Our website is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
